Kristen Bathroom Remodel

September28

This is going to be a good one.  No starting out small here,  A total remodel, rip up the concrete slab , move some plumbing, everything else brand new! We started this on Sept 2.

Ok we have removed the tub, shower and surrounding walls.  We have 2 drains to work with and a hot and cold supply line coming out of the slab right in the middle of our space.  We will cut the slab and make a groove for the new copper pipes.  Rather than cap these off, I think we will run them back to the wall and up to another shower head.  Maybe have 2 coming straight down from the ceiling.  The next step is to lay the shower pan.  This will be custom by Kristen and I.  We are having second thoughts about our original design.

Here you go,  busted up the foundation and moved the original bathtub drain over a couple of feet.  Opened it op from 1.5 to 2 inches.  Then backfilled the hole and concrete the top.  Covered it with .75 ply and attached the shower pan drain.

Mixed up 4 parts sand and 1 part portland cement with an acrylic fortifier, no water into deckk mud. create the slope of .25 in incline for every 12in away from the drain.  You can see Kristen is doing all the concrete work.  That portland cement dries my skin out.

This is the second layer of mortar for the pan.  Not much activity latey, but we are about to shift gears!!

Sorry slow on the updates, but now I’ve moved out so Kristens on her own.  Later bitch!!!
